ANCHORAGE, Alaska - (08/24/04) -- Alaska's credit unions have throwntheir support in Tuesday's Republican primary behind Sen. LisaMurkowski, derided by opponents as 'daddy's girl,' because she wasappointed to her U.S. Senate seat by her father Frank Murkowski,when he vacated the seat to run for governor. Murkowski, who facesthree challengers in Tuesday's Republican primary, has received themaximum allowable campaign contribution form CUNA's politicalaction committee. The winner of the primary is expected to faceDemocratic former Governor Tony Knowles in the general electionthis fall.
