Facelift Lets Portland Teachers CU ChangeName

PORTLAND, Ore. - (09/13/05) -- Portland Teachers CU, the state'slargest credit union, said it is changing its name to reflect a newcommunity charter granted by state regulators--the largest field ofmembership ever approved for a state chartered credit union inOregon. The $2 billion credit union, to be known as OnPointCommunity CU beginning Jan. 1, has been authorized to serve morethan 2.2 million of the state's four millions residents living in10 counties. The new charter will allow the 73-year-old creditunions to serve residents of Benton, Clackamas, Columbia, Lane,Linn, Marion, Multnomah, Polk, Washington and Yamhillcounties
