Florida CUs Close To Being 100%Operational

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. - (08/18/04) Florida credit unions affected byHurricane Charley are getting close to being 100% operationalagain, according to the Florida Credit Union League, which has beengathering reports from credit unions beneath the stormspath. While branches have back-up generators, the bigger problemremains for members who remain without power. In some cases, evenwhen branches have gone unscathed, they were inaccessible due todowned power lines and debris, but most CU locations were up andrunning Monday with more coming back online on Tuesday, creditunions told The Credit Union Journal.
