FPCU Teams With El Concilio

Food Processors Credit Union and El Concilio/Council for the Spanish Speaking have teamed up to combine the credit union's specialized financial products and services with El Concilio's array of social service programs that target the low-income and Spanish-speaking communities in the region.

FPCU, which is in the process of changing its name to Community Trust CU, has opened a branch at El Concilio's main office, here. This partnership is the first of its kind in the San Joaquin Valley according to FPCU and El Concilio.

Those in attendance at the ribbon-cutting ceremony for the new branch included such dignitaries as State Sen. Michael Machado, U.S. Rep Richard Pombo and Brian Gately of the National Federation of Community Development Credit Unions. The collaboration between FPCU and El Concilio was funded in part by a CDFI Fund grant.
