After participating in the STAR and Merit programs offered through CUNA, DATCU here is implementing a new learning system for its employees called Credit Union University. It is offering to pass along to a "deserving" credit union from among Credit Union Journal readers its STAR and Merit learning systems. Interested credit unions should submit a brief explanation (50 words or less) of why your credit union best deserves the modules. And just to make it interesting, those responses must avoid using the word "the!"
The STAR modules educate employees on a variety of financial products and practices that are not credit union specific. The Merit learning systems cover issues that apply primarily to managers. DATCU has over 10 STAR modules (three different books in each module) and 24 Merit books.
