Credit Union West is among those that have made a mission out of showcasing examples of outstanding member service.
Among its strategies: last year it hosted Celebration 2005, a gala that included an audio-visual show highlighting examples of member service that were worthy of being shared with others. As part of the program, it distributed plaques, trophies and numerous gift cards.
In addition to its work internally, it has also been recognized within both the credit union community and its own community for its work. It won a 2005 Dora Maxwell Award for Social Responsibility for assistance to the Westside Food Bank, to which it donated $35,000 in donations. It also reported providing assistance for more than 4,000 member in lowering loan rates through a special loan program.
