Grandma Has No Mercy For SchemingGrandson

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. - (02/18/05) -- A 23-year-old local man was held injail on $10,000 bail after his grandmother refused his pleas andswore out a complaint against him for forging her credit unioncheck. Kevin Rolfe was charged with two counts of forgery fortrying to cash a phony check on his grandma's account at FirstFinancial CU. Police arrested Rolfe at the credit union Mondayafternoon after employees noticed the signature on an $800 check,which belonged to Rolfe's grandmother, did not match the signatureon file. So the credit union called up Rolfe's grandmother and shetold them she was missing a check and had not given her grandsonpermission to cash it. When she arrived at the credit union hepleaded with her not to prosecute but she insisted.
