Hawaiian Groups Raise Funding ForCU

HONOLULU - (06/15/06) – A coalition of native Hawaiiangroups has raised $1.3 million to charter their own credit unionbut have put off filing a charter application while they seek theremainder of their $3 million goal. The proposed Prince Kuhio FCUwould be based in Kapolei and would serve members of theAssociation of Hawaiian Civic Clubs and the Hawaiian Home LandsTrust. The Association of Hawaiian Civic Clubs is comprised of 51groups representing indigenous people of Polynesianancestry.
