DETROIT - (12/20/05) -- A group of area credit unions hopethey have a partial solution to this winter's soaring energyprices--prepaid gift cards to help you pay your heating bill. Sixcredit unions in greater Detroit are selling the 'Gift of Energy'certificates from Consumers Energy in denominations up to $50.Recipients can mail in the certificates with their monthly utilitybills and the amount will be deducted from their bills. Thecertificates cannot be redeemed for cash. Participating creditunions include: Clawson CU, Consumers Choice CU, ConsumersProfessional CU, CP FCU, ELGA FCU, and GR Consumers FCU.
