OPELIKA, Ala. - (02/22/06) -- A local man who shot his wife todeath in the parking lot of Royal FCU last June was ruled unfit tostand trial Friday and will be sent to a psychiatric hospitalinstead. Ronald Greer, 47, is accused of shooting his estrangedwife, Callie Greer, who had filed for divorce. Ronald Greer wasshot in the head by police after shooting his wife, and washospitalized for several months. Police said Ronald Greer had ahistory of domestic violence during their 13-year marriage. Greerwill be evaluated later on to determine whether he is fit to standtrial.
