Indiana CUL To Underwrite Trip To GAC For 30

The Indiana League, through its Servicecorp operation, is providing funding for representatives from as many as 20 Indiana credit unions to attend CUNA's GAC in February. The league has made $35,000 available to assist its affiliates, with an emphasis on those who have never attended the annual conference, of which Hill visits are a major component. Selected credit unions will receive $1,750 to cover one person's costs, including conference registration, air fare, hotel, meals and travel expenses.

"Political involvement by credit union representatives has never been more important than it is right now," said League President John McKenzie.

Indiana's affiliated credit unions may submit one name. Selection will be based on criteria including political involvement, financial need and whether the person has attended the GAC before. The Indiana CU Foundation also offers a scholarship that covers expenses for the recipient to attend the GAC.
