Information Being Gathered On History Of African-American Credit Union Movement

The African American Credit Union Coalition is gathering information on the history of African Americans in the credit union movement, according to AACUC Chair Helen Godfery, who is also CEO of Shreveport FCU. The trade association is putting together a committee to work on collecting the information, particularly the history of community-based, education and African American church-based credit unions that helped bring financial services to minorities.
