Jekel To NASCUS Chair-Elect

Linda Jekel, Director of Credit Unions for the state of Washington, has been elected chairman-elect of the National Association of State Credit Union Supervisors (NASCUS) during the group's meeting here.

The opening was created following the resignation of John P. Smith, formerly the director of credit unions for the state of Missouri, who was terminated by Gov. Matt Blunt on April 1.

To fill Smith's position on the board, NASCUS Chairman and Michigan regulator Roger W. Little appointed Harold Feeney, commissioner of the Texas Credit Union Department to fill the remainder of Smith's three-year term of service on the board, which expires in 2007.

Jekel joined the NASCUS board in 2003.
