Charlotte Metro Credit Union has appointed someone to fill a relatively new post at a credit union: Manager of Latino Relations. The credit union has named Elizabeth Ramos, a native Puerto Rican, to fill the position, after having previously served as an account manager with the $110-million credit union. "We wanted a fully-experienced and fluent point person for our contacts with the business leaders and new immigrants of the Latino communities," said VP-Marketing Deb McLean.

Separately, CMCU said it is now providing instant on-site Visa Checkcard Issuance to new members as a means of reducing fraud. The instant issuance eliminates the theft of cards and PINs from mailboxes. The cards, along with PINs, are issued as members open their checking accounts.
