Maryland CUs Join REAL SOLUTIONSProject

COLUMBIA - (02/15/05) The Maryland CU League said itsMaryland CU Foundation has become a partner in the Filene ResearchInstitutes REAL SOLUTIONS project aimed at developingalternatives to the proliferation of check cashing and paydaylending services. One of the main focuses of the project isbuilding awareness among low- and moderate-income consumers of theavailability of credit unions as an alternative to high-costfinancial services. Maryland is the second state to collaboratewith Filene Research Institute on the REAL SOLUTIONS Project.Maryland credit union executives are being invited to a specialseminar on March 17th at the league office to learn more about theprogram.
