Matz Meets On Exam Issues

NCUA board member Deborah Matz met last week at the agency's headquarters building here with credit union executives and trade group representatives to open a rare dialogue on the examination process.

Matz said she was interested in learning more from those involved in the process on credit unions'perceptions of NCUA examinations and how the calculations of CAMEL ratings may affect the process, among other things.

"I felt it was important to open up a dialogue and would be a good idea to exchange ideas," Matz told The Credit Union Journal.

Also attending the meeting were David Marquis, director of the agency's examinations and insurance; Len Skiles, NCUA's executive director and representatives from CUNA, NAFCU and the National Federation of Community Development Credit Unions.
