LAKELAND, Fla. - (07/03/06) Almost 100,000 members ofMidFlorida FCU will be receiving a rare mid-year bonus from theircredit union this weeka $10 check. The credit union sent theten-spots to each of its membersa total of $1 million-tocelebrate hitting the $1 billion mark in assets. The special bonuswas restricted to members in good standing as of April 30, withone-check issued per Social Security number. Only primary membersreceived payments. MidFlorida was chartered in 1954 with 34 memberswho pooled $520 in deposits. It now has more than 110,000 membersthroughout central Florida. Pushing it over the $1 billion mark wasits merger with Regional Community FCU, which was completedFriday.
