AUGUSTA, Me. -- Greater Waterville Area FCU announced an agreement Tuesday to combine with Maine State CU, the state's largest credit union. The new credit union will serve more than 25,000 members and have $227 million in assets, and be based at Maine State CU's headquarters in the state capital here. The merger was approved by both boards and both memberships and is scheduled to be completed on December 1.
