NEW YORK - (03/25/05) -- Three masked gunmen held up twoarmed security guards making a payroll delivery to Local 1999 CUWednesday and made off with $100,000 during a daring mid-day raid.The two guards, one of them a retired cop packing two guns, had togo through the basement of the midtown building where the creditunion is based to deliver the cash and that's where the banditswere waiting there for them, police said. They beat the ex-cop, whosuffered head wounds, and stole his guns. The credit union servesworkers for the Service Employees International Union.
