In response to an excellent year in 2003, Como Northtown Community Credit Union decided to thank its members for their years of support by giving out bonus dividends with the option to donate to the Minnesota CU Foundation. "We thought bonus dividends were the right idea, because we wanted to reward our current members, the people who actually made us profitable," said Brian Roegge, President of Como Northtown Community CU.
In April of 2004 the credit union mailed postcards out to its 8,500 members offering $10 in bonus dividends and giving them the option to donate it to the foundation or other organizations.
