Montana Gov. Brian Schweitzer visited Bear Paw Credit Union's outreach site here.

The credit union visits Fort Belknap Indian Reservation weekly to provide financial services to an otherwise unserved area.

The Montana league said the visit had significance for credit unions, as during the gubernatorial campaign, Gov. Schweitzer's brother and key campaign staffer made the comment that the governor questioned the tax-exempt status of some credit unions.

The credit union provided Schweitzer with credit union information during his visit.

While on site, the governor introduced himself to a member who was filing his taxes through a service offered by the credit union, 1040 Express.
