More than 500 representatives drawn from 70 credit unions across Colorado turned out for the Colorado league's annual meeting here. "1 in 3-The Power of Unity" was the theme of the 2005 annual meeting, a reference to the fact one-in-three citizens are members/owners of credit unions.
On hand for the meeting was new CUNA Mutual Group CEO Jeff Post, who said, "I'm very impressed with the credit union movement-your unity and sense of purpose is incredible. Don't lose that sense of unity."
Recognized during the meeting were Dr. Michael Poulos, who received the Volunteer Hall of Fame Achievement Award for his contributions as a volunteer to Denver Community FCU; Sandy Neves, president and CEO of Fitzsimons Community FCU, who received the Professional Hall of Fame Achievement Award for her accomplishments throughout her almost 25 years of service, and Gary Atkins, a recent retiree from Ent FCU and former president of Mountain Bell CU, who received the new Distinguished Service Award.
