BRUNSWICK, Me. - (09/15/04) -- Jeannette Morin, the 90-year-oldmatriarch of the Maine credit union movement, died Sunday. Morin,who organized eight credit unions and preserved much of the state'scredit union history over 60 years of involvement, was known as the'Mother of the Maine CU Movement.' She was manager of St. John'sFCU (now know as Atlantic Regional FCU) fROm 1944 to 1974, and wasappointed president of the Maine CU League in 1960.
