SCHAUMBURG, Ill. - (10/14/04) -- Motorola said it is conducting apilot program with MasterCard to allow consumers to use their cellphones for payments. The pilot aims to integrate MasterCard'sPayPass contactless payment system with cell phones. The handsetswill incorporate a number of security features to protect financialdata and to ensure consumers a secure financial transaction. TheMotorola phones with the MasterCard PayPass technology are expectedto be field tested later this year.
