The National Association of CUSOs (NACUSO) said it plans to more formally collaborate with the Bank Insurance and Securities Association (BISA), Wayne, Penn.
"Since the Gramm-Leach-Bliley regulation, depository institutions have actively integrated their securities and insurance programs into the "converged" financial institutions of the future," NACUSO said. The goal is to provide greater expertise to CUSOs on banking, securities and insurance. BISA will continue to provide content at NACUSO meetings on investment and insurance topics, while NACUSO will provide credit union-specific content relating to investment and insurance services at BISA meetings to increase collaboration among members.
Initial steps will include a credit union wrap-up roundtable on March 7, at the BISA Annual Convention in Hollywood, Fla. and a collaborative educational track at the NACUSO Annual Conference in Las Vegas, May 15-18.
