Navy Federal Assisting Employees Called To Duty

The $19.9-billion Navy FCU is offering supplemental pay to employees who are activated or volunteer for military duty. Employees qualify for the supplemental pay if activated for a period exceeding 30 days and if their Navy Federal pay exceeds that of their military pay plus housing allowance. The credit union pays the difference for up to 12 months. Navy Federal initiated the benefit in March 2002.

To date, 12 NFCU employees have been called to active duty this year; nine are currently still serving on active duty. Of those individuals, three employees currently qualify and receive the supplemental military pay benefit. A total of 27 NFCU employees have been called to active duty since Sept. 11, 2001.
