The Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP) honored the National Credit Union Foundation (NCUF) as the winner of its 2005 Award for Excellence in Fundraising at its International Conference here. On hand to accept the award at the organization's awards luncheon was Steve Delfin, NCUF's Executive Director. Sponsored by Campbell and Company, the award is given each year to an organization that has demonstrated outstanding results in the areas of fundraising innovation, return on investment and/or the amount of funds raised. NCUF received the award for its innovative Community Investment Fund (CIF). "In just five years NCUF has been able to increase its grant-making capabilities by 1,400%, from $166,000 in 2000 to $2.6 million in 2004," Delfin said to the crowd as he accepted the award on behalf of the Foundation.
