Bellwether Community CU announced it has agreed to merge with Compass CU to create the state's fourth largest credit union.
The new entity will have almost $300 million in assets and serve 19,000 members. Bellwether Community CU, with more than $260 million in assets, was formerly known as Telephone Workers CU of New Hampshire and is one of the few credit unions in the country to claim a statewide field of membership.
Compass CU was formerly known as Cathedral CU and has more than $30 million in assets.
