SAN DIEGO - (04/13/05) -- North Island CU said it has createdits own internal group aimed at stimulating the development andimplementation of innovations. The credit union ni-i3, which standsfor North Island CU--ideas, innovation, implementation, is modeledafter the Filene Research Institute's i3. The $1.5 billion creditunion has held two workshops for the group with 48 participants whowere charged with creating something unique about a product orservice for the May 24 meeting by using one of three of the creditunion's member promises: ease of use, worry free, and fun. GeriDillingham, chief operating officer for the credit union, urgedother credit unions to try Filene's innovations process to helpdevelop new products or services or ways to deliverthem.
