WASHINGTON - (02/24/05) -- CUNA said its state leagues havecollected more than 660,000 names so far on anti-credit union taxpetitions credit union executives will be carrying to Capitol Hillnext week during the group's annual government affairs conference.The petitions, urging maintenance of the credit union taxexemption, will be hand-delivered to home state members of congressduring the GAC's annual congressional lobbying pilgrimage. At thesame time, credit union executives back home will be deliveringadditional anti-tax petitions to their lawmakers' home offices.About 35 state leagues participated in the petitiondrives.
