Beall To Leave MDDCCUA For Missouri League

COLUMBIA, Md.-Maryland and District of Columbia U Association CEO Mike Beall is stepping down from his post this fall to take over the top spot at the Missouri CU Association. Beall, who has served as MDCCUA's CEO since 2004, will assume his new role effective Nov. 1. Beall was first hired by the Maryland CU League in February 2004 and helped lead the merger with the DC League in 2006. The MDCCUA board and executive committee will spend the next few weeks laying out the search process for a new CEO.

 

NCUA Expands New Consumer Affairs Office

ALEXANDRIA, Va.-NCUA is looking to lease additional office space while it undergoes renovation to accommodate new hires, particularly in the newly created Office of Consumer Affairs.

The consumer affairs office currently has three full-time employees but is planning to add full-time personnel by the end of September. The NCUA board funded the new office with $1.5 million for this year and plans to hire as many as 30 people.

The office currently is headed by Kent Buckham, former chief corporate CU examiner, with Tonya Green serving as director of consumer compliance and outreach and Robert Leonard as director of consumer access.

The Treasury Department is soliciting NCUA and other financial regulators for employees who are trained in consumer issues to join the new consumer bureau, which will be housed inside of the Federal Reserve. No decision has been made as to how many staff will be transferred from each agency.
