Two CUs In Deal To Serve Toyota Plant

SAN ANTONIO, Texas-In an innovative arrangement, San Antonio FCU and Toyota FCU said they have agreed to jointly open a full-service branch to serve employees of the new Toyota manufacturing plant in the south side of the city. Under a unique shared agreement, Torrance, Calif.-based Toyota FCU will provide deposit and loan services, while San Antonio FCU will accept select groups associated with the plant, including contractors, vendors, suppliers, as members. The Japanese car maker is building an $800-million truck assembly plant that will eventually employ 2,000 people and house 18 suppliers employing another 1,500 workers.

CU Foundation Seeking Partners For Program

WASHINGTON-Following the award of a grant from the U.S. HUD, the National Credit Union Foundation is seeking CU partners to deliver home buying counseling programs locally to members of their communities. The program's goal is to prepare people of modest means for homeownership. NCUF awards funds to credit union organizations with the ability to use such funds.
