PORTLAND, Ore. - (01/04/06) Oregons largest creditunion began the new year with a new name. On Jan. 1, PortlandTeachers CU, with $2 billion in assets and 170,000 members, becameOnPoint Community CU. The credit union, which serves a broad10-county field of membership, chose the name OnPoint Community CUafter extensive research and testing that showed the name impliedfocused service and that it is the point to go forall financial services. Members will retain their same accountnumbers and can use their current checks until they need a newsupply, which will have the new OnPoint Community CU.
