‘Passports’ To Be Issued ToID Theft Victims

LAS VEGAS - (01/02/06) The Nevada Attorney General’sOffice will start issuing “passports” to victims ofidentity theft to help them prove their identities were stolen. Anew state law effective in January requires the identity theftpassports to help victims restore their credit and resolve anycriminal charges that may have been brought against them as aresult of identity theft. To qualify for the passport, victims mustreport the theft to the police and then apply to the attorneygeneral’s office for the documentation.
