CONCORD, Calif. - (05/15/06) A man responsible for at leasta dozen area bank robberies since December 2004includingheists at Concord Diablo FCU and California Pacific CUisbeing hunted by local police and the FBI. The bandit has beendubbed the Downtown Bank Robber because most of the robberiesoccurred in the heart of Concord. The Downtown robber is believedto be responsible for last Mondays hold-up at Tri CountyBank, just hours after an attempted robbery at a Wells Fargobranch. Police have numerous surveillance photos of the suspect. Noone has reported seeing him with a weapon.
