Southeast Signs 100th Contract

TALLAHASSEE, Fla.-Southeast Corporate said the 100th contract has been signed for its item processing and imaging services. The "100th" credit union is actually three, since three CUs that were using a CUSO (Envision CU, Florida A&M CU, and Focus CU) for item processing signed as one to begin service from Southeast.

Southeast Corporate estimated that since the inception of the service, credit unions have saved approximately $1.5-million in actual fee costs, plus additional savings in back office processing time. Credit unions also have the ability to pull up share draft images online to answer member questions.

In 18 months of offering the service, Southeast Corporate said it has processed 52,113,890 items. The corporate is planning to open a second item processing/ imaging center in Miami to go with the facility already in place in Jacksonville.

Virtual Marketing Kits Added

DALLAS-Southwest Corporate FCU has added enhancements to the "virtual marketing kits" it provides to credit unions: animated web banners that help credit unions promote convenience-based services such as debit cards, electronic bill payment and checking programs.

The new web banners augment an existing line of marketing materials available to support various campaigns, according to Terry Young, director of Marketing and Communications at Southwest Corporate. Marketing materials already available in the "virtual marketing kits" include: posters, brochures, newsletter articles and sample ads.

"The web banners can be placed on credit union web sites to further promote services they offer," Young said.
