PSCU Financial Services and First Data Western Union Foundation have selected 25 elementary school teachers from across the country to participate in the newly established Credit Union Week at The Colonial Williamsburg Foundation's Teacher Institute. Scheduled for Aug. 2-9, it's being funded by a grant from the two companies.
The teachers were selected from applications that PSCU Financial Services' member-owner credit unions presented to schools in their local areas. The grant provides more than $2,000 for each teacher, which covers program admission, room and meals and a $200 stipend to be used for travel expenses or the purchase of educational materials.
Seminar participants learn innovative methods for communicating the principles of America's unique history and system of government and will prepare new instructional materials for use in their own classrooms.
