As one of the co-authors of the Credit Union Regulatory Improvement Act (CURIA), U.S. Rep. Ed Royce (R-CA) came before the crowd as a favored lawmaker and urged credit unions to muster their grassroots to push for the bill's passage.
"When the 108th Congress came to an end, we had 68 co-sponsors," Royce related. "That was a good start, but not enough to satisfy the objective."
