Sallie Mae Opens New Collections OfficeIn Upstate New York

HORSEHEADS, N.Y. - (12/27/04) -- Sallie Mae said its General RevenueCorp., collection agency, has acquired a 60,000 square-footfacility here for $4.7 million. The new facility is expected tohouse about 220 employees in the short-term. General Revenue, basedin Cincinnati, specializes in collecting on student loans butrecently signed with the state of Ohio to collect on defaultedincome tax payments.
