San Diego CUs To Stay On Sidelines For Super Bowl

Super Bowl XXXVII will be played in Qualcomm Stadium here on Jan. 26, but local credit unions appear to be sitting out the National Football League's annual party.

When asked if San Diego-area credit unions were doing ticket drawings, "Super" loan promotions or similar tie-ins to the big game, Jeanine Acevedo, CEO of Escondido FCU and president of the San Diego Chapter of the California Credit Union League, said no one brought up the idea at the Jan. 10 chapter meeting. Robin Lentz, CEO of Cabrillo CU and president of the San Diego Alliance of Credit Unions, said "What a great idea. Why didn't we think of that? Maybe next time."
