MIAMI - (03/20/06) NCUA reported Friday it hasgranted approval to South Florida Educational FCU, which servesteachers and other employees of county schools, to add the 370,000students in Miami-Dade County, to its field of membership, one ofthe largest select groups approved in recent years. The federalregulator also approved several large community expansions,including one allowing Topline FCU, Maple Grove, Minn., to servealmost 2.7 million people in seven surrounding counties, one of thelargest community grants ever. NCUA also gave approval to(Department of) Agriculture FCU, in Washington, D.C., to serve theentire Capital city and its 600,000 residents through underservedexpansion; and to Inland Valley FCU, San Bernardino, Calif., toserve 630,000 residents in low-income designated areas insurrounding San Bernardino County.
