TYLER, Texas - (12/06/05) -- Two bold bandits help up Tyler FCU,then a nearby dry cleaners Monday morning, forcing the lockdown ofthe local elementary school during an ensuing manhunt by localpolice. The two suspects jumped over the tellers' counter andrifled through the cash drawers before making their getaway, policesaid. The two men are believed to be the same ones who robbed EastTexas Professional CU last March and at least three local bankbranches earlier this year. In each robbery, the suspects stolegetaway vehicles the day before and abandoned them after theheists. In Monday's robbery, police said the suspects fled in aDodge Ram pickup that was stolen from a local dealer over theweekend. The truck was recovered with some of the cash in the frontseat that was stained red by a dye pack that had apparentlyexploded on the robbers. Some red stained clothing that apparentlybelonged to the suspects was discovered next to thetruck.
