Synovus Financial Corp. plans to renovate its 281 branches and add 25 new ones to help improve retail banking results, The American Banker said.
Over the past two decades Synovus has grown to include 40 subsidiary banks in Alabama, Florida, Georgia, South Carolina and Tennessee.
In the past the company left management intact and didn't change acquired banks but now changes will be made so that customers will get a "consistent" experience, bank executive Leila Carr, who will oversee the changes, told The American Banker.
Part of the effort would be to introduce a new common branch design that will help improve customer traffic flow.
