Technology News: L9.com's Safe2Login Wins CTC's Best of Show

The "Safe2Login" third party trust authority, created by the Barre, Vt.-based L9.com., which verifies the identity of the web server by creating a secure communication trust triangle between the credit union web server, the Safe2Login server, and the user's computer, won the Best of Show Award from the CUNA Technology Council at the 2005 CUNA Future Forum here.

With the solution, after multiple, real-time security assessments have been performed, a Safe2Login user-personalized security stamp is dynamically generated directly on the credit union server's login page, verifying to the user that they are indeed communicating with the genuine server.

Tom Kroen, chairman of the CUNA Technology Council and AVP-IT at First Tech CU, in Beaverton, Ore., said the award was presented to L9.com because they "offer a timely and cost-effective solution to a problem that virtually all credit unions face: how to assure their members that they are on the credit union's website and not on a phishing site."

Created in 2005, L9.com is a CUSO formed through a partnership between Level 9 and New England FCU to advance the online channel for credit unions of all sizes.
