Telephone Workers CU Lands At ShutteredAir Base

WEYMOUTH, Mass. - (12/20/05) -- Telephone Workers CU has agreed tobecome the first tenant at the South Weymouth Naval Air Station,which is being redeveloped into a commercial and residentialproject. The Boston-based credit union, which recently converted toa community charter, has agreed to lease a 60,000 square-footbuilding at the 1,405-acre site, just south of Boston. Under itsnew charter the $500 million credit union now serves residents ofsurrounding Norfolk County and most of Plymouth and Middlesexcounties. Plans call for the redevelopment to include 2,855 homesand two million feet of commercial space.
