Tiny CU Reaps Giant FOM

ALEXANDRIA, Va. - (11/19/04) -- Pentagon FCU said it has completedthe acquisition of VFW FCU, a small credit union with a huge fieldof membership. The acquisition of the $2.5 million credit union,based in the Veterans of Foreign Wars' Kansas City headquarters,expands the FOM for Pentagon FCU by more than two million potentialmembers, including 1.3 million members of the VFW, 600,000 of theVFW's Ladies' Auxiliary, and family members of both groups. Theacquisition of VFW CU is the fifth in the last two years forPentagon, the nation's third largest credit union with more than $7billion in assets.
