Union Sees CUNA Mutual As HolidayGrinch

COLUMBUS, Ind. - (12/22/04) -- A not-so-jolly Santa look-alikevisited CUNA Mutual Group Chairman Loretta Burd at her Centra CUoffice here Tuesday to deliver a Christmas card urging Burd to getthe CMG board to bend in its 10-month-old negotiations with thecompany's labor union. The faux Santa, a representative of theOffice and Professional Employees International Union, was joinedby members of the OPEIU's Local 1 in Indiana to deliver theChristmas greeting. Burd, president and CEO, of Centra CU, refusedto appear and her staff would not accept the card, according to theOPEIU.
