CUSO To Pay First Dividend

HARAHAN, LA - CU Cooperative Branching, LLC, Louisiana's shared branching CUSO, said it will pay a one-time cash dividend of 5% per share to investors for the first time in its history. This dividend will be paid Dec. 31, 2010. CU Cooperative Branching has 110 locations in the state.

 

Monthly Donation Option Available

MADISON, Wis.-The National Credit Union Foundation has launched a monthly giving option for donors. Gifts can be made from either a checking account or debit/credit card. "We wanted to make it as easy as possible for people to support our critical programs and grants," said Bucky Sebastian, NCUF executive director.

Members Flock To Credit Score Tool

MADISON, Wis.-More than 29,000 members of UW Credit Union have now accessed the free "My Credit Score" tool introduced by the credit union in September. Through the service members can access their personal credit score using UWCU's Web Branch. UW CU reported that 14,000 members have registered for the service and are active users of the tools available to monitor their credit.

 

MSIC Alters Coverage Plan

WESTBOROUGH, Mass.- A new Massachusetts law that removes deposit caps for state-chartered CUs has gone into effect in this state. Massachusetts Credit Union Share Insurance Corp. said it will now fully insure excess shares and deposits above the federal insurance limit of $250,000 at all of its member CUs across the state.

 

Marine Presents Branch With Flag

SOUTH JORDAN, Utah-A branch of Desert First CU here recently received a letter from SPC J. D. Nelson, 21, a Utah marine serving in Afghanistan, along with American flag and a certificate noting that the "flag was flown over Afghanistan aboard a Marine Tactical Electronic Warfare Squadron Two EA-6B Prowler in honor of Deseret First Credit Union South Jordan Branch." The certificate was signed by the pilot and crew of the aircraft. In his letter, Nelson thanked the staff for its "support and kindness to me" in helping him secure an auto loan.
