NYIB: 6,926 Presentations Made

MADISON, Wis.-The National Youth Involvement Board is reporting that during the 2003-04 school year credit unions across the U.S. presented a record 6,926 classroom presentations, but did not eclipse the 213,025 students reached in 2002-03. The NYIB said that as of June 30, 2004, although more than 1,100 additional presentations were made by 165 more credit union presenters than in the 2002-03 school year, 191,811 students took part in the financial skills presentations. "Credit unions are realizing that making their presence known in the nationwide focus on financial literacy is a demonstration of their unique philosophy," said NYIB chairman Rachel Parrent.

CUES Exec Officers Are Named

MADISON, Wis.-CUES has named its executive board officers for 2004-05. They are: chairman, Gary Irvin, CEO of FORUM CU, Indianapolis; vice chairman, Rose Bartolomucci, CEO of Kent CU in Ohio; treasurer, Carol A. Humenick, EVP with Atlantic Credit Union in Newtown Square, Penn., and secretary, Mark Hawkins, CEO of Altura CU, Riverside, Calif.

McClellan Named MAX CEO

MONTGOMERY, Ala.-MAX Federal Credit Union has named H. Greg McClellan as President & CEO effective Jan. 1, 2005. McClellan succeeds Thomas E. Ballow, Jr. who is retiring Dec. 31. McClellan joined MAX in 1984 and is currently the EVP/COO, and prior to that was VP-internal operations. McClellan holds numerous volunteer positions on a variety of credit union organizations.

University FCU The Place To Work

AUSTIN, Texas-University FCU here has been named one of the Best Places to Work in Central Texas by the Austin Business Journal for large companies having more than 250 employees.
