NAFCU Honors 4 People, 2 CUs

ARLINGTON, Va.-NAFCU has honored four individuals as part of its 2005 awards program, all of whom will be recognized at the trade group's annual conference in July in Las Vegas. Named as Profesionals of the Year were Joan Moran of Department of Labor FCU and Joseph Melbourne of Educators FCU.

Named as Volunteers of the Year were William Terrell Posey of North Carolina Community FCU and Max Giovannini, Security Service FCU. Winning Federal Credit Union of the Year were American Partners FCU and America's CU.

AACUC Meeting In The Bahamas

NASSAU, Bahamas-The African-American Credit Union Coalition is holding its seventh annual conference at the Wyndham Nassau Resort and Crystal Palace Casino, here, Aug. 12-14.

Two Win Annie Vamper Awards

SAN FRANCISCO-The National Federation of Community Development Credit Unions has honored two people with its Annie Vamper Helping Hands Awards. Recognized at the NFCDCUs' annual meeting were Lillian Bent, manager/ CEO of Union Settlement FCU, New York, and Daisy White of First Delta FCU. Bent has been manager/CEO of the $7.9 million CU in New York since 1991, and is a founding member of the New York Financial Network Action Consortium White, 89, has been involved in credit unions since 1980.

ACUL Recognizes Two People

PHOENIX -The Arizona Credit Union League named as its Very Outstanding Credit Union Person Fred Kent, president/CEO of First CU. Also recognized was Stephan Dunham, president, Grand Canyon State CU, Phoenix, who received the 2005 Rose Mofford Credit Union Volunteer award for his service, particularly to Arizona Council of the Blind FCU.

Montana Honors Trio

HELENA, Mont.-The Montana Credit Union Network has created the T. Eugene Rice Lifetime Achievement Award. The first recipient: T. Eugene Rice, who is retiring as CEO of Rocky Mountain CU. The MCUN also recognized Chris Sisco, CEO of Montana 1st CU and Mark Lodine, a board member at Montana 1st, as the state's professional and volunteer of the year.
